To us Burmese people, Thingyan the water festival is our biggest celebration as well as our new year. But this year, the people are boycotting it as the whole nation does not feel happy or celebratory living under military rule. To be living under their brutal, ruthless rule, the people felt that this is not a time for any celebrations and in a way also protesting against the military government. On the other hand, the military government tries hard to show off to the world by setting up festival grounds and events to show fake celebrations. But in reality, the people are suffering, angry, and protesting against their rule. The people will never give in this time and we will keep doing whatever we could till the day we have the rightful government.
